Jalisco Punch: The Ultimate Tequila Punch

Punch recipes can be difficult to perfect–save time at your next party with this crowd-pleasing Jalisco Punch.

Easily batchable and easily drinkable, punch is a staple at any party. 

Traditionally a tried and true mix of fruit juice to alcohol, according to the host’s preference, we always choose tequila as our punch spirit of choice–Calirosa Rosa Blanco to be specific.

What Is Rosa Blanco?

Rosa Blanco is Calirosa’s twist on Blanco tequila, the typical baseline in a tequila brand’s collection that is produced for mixing in cocktails rather than sipping (unlike reposado and añejo). While most blanco tequilas are composed of unaged agave spirit, Calirosa’s Rosa Blanco is still produced from 100 percent Blue Weber Agave, but it’s also aged in California red wine barrels for 30 days, which imparts flavor, texture and its rosy hue. Hence, pink tequila.

Why is Rosa Blanco Perfect for Tequila Punch?

Rosa Blanco’s combination of sweet agave with notes of ripened berries and honey lends a trusted, versatile base to many different cocktails, but in tequila punch, it's the orange, cherry and berry notes that blend seamlessly with the similar fruit juice mixers often used in punch.

In addition to Rosa Blanco elevating the flavor profile, a unique textural body is added to the punch from the tequila spending 30 days aging in red-wine barrels. 

Tequila Punch Cocktail Ingredients

One can go many directions when it comes to tequila punch, but we specifically love Jalisco Punch. The unique taste of pomegranate paired with the distinct aromas of Rosa Blanco provides a colorful, flavorful refreshment that will keep your guests returning to the bowl for refills (or they may just hover over it!).

You will need the following ingredients to make this amazing group serving of pomegranate punch.

  • 1 Bottle of Calirosa Rosa Blanco Tequila
  • 11 oz Pomegranate Cordial (we love PAMA) 
  • 11 oz Lemon 
  • 7 Small Sticks of Mexican Cinnamon
  • Angostura Bitters

How to Make Punch With Tequila?

Combine all ingredients in a large glass serving bowl that will show off the alluring color. Stir well. Add ice. As a final touch, add the garnish. Have fun with this part, halving pomegranates and floating them in the punch bowl with cinnamon sticks or cutting a series of lemon and orange wheels to dangle off the rims of the serving glasses.
