The Tequila Negroni Rosa
Traditionally, you make a Negroni cocktail using gin. It’s a bitter yet refreshing cocktail tied together with a fresh orange wheel or lemon peel garnish for a light fragrance to match the robust flavor.
The Negroni Rosa was invented in Florence, Italy, by Count Camillo Negroni - from whom the drink gets its unique name.
Negroni’s favorite cocktail was the Americano, a similar drink that contains Campari, sweet vermouth, and soda water. However, Negroni’s idea was to replace the soda water with gin.
We took a page out of Negroni’s book and put a little twist on this already-borrowed recipe by replacing the soda water with our Calirosa Rosa Blanco tequila.
Why?
Because our Calirosa Rosa Blanco is simply one of a kind, adding a smooth yet distinct red wine taste to anything it’s served in. This handcrafted tequila also gives the Negroni a vibrant, rosy glow, which is wildly appropriate for its specialty name: Negroni Rosa.

Check out the full recipe of our Tequila Negroni Rosa below:
- One and one-half ounces of Calirosa Blanco
- 1 ounce Campari
- 1 ounce Sweet Vermouth
- Fresh ice
Our Negroni Rosa is best served in either chilled rocks or old-fashioned glass. It’s also a glass best stirred, not shaken. Pour the Calirosa Blanco and equal parts, Campari and Sweet Vermouth, into a mixing glass over a large ice cube and give it a good stir for about 10 seconds.
Strain the liquid out of the mixing glass and into your rocks glass, and enjoy! But don’t forget the garnish. The Negroni Rosa is simply not complete without some lemon oils and a nicely curled lemon peel or an orange twist for a bright and appealing garnish.
Why Use Our Calirosa Rosa Blanco Tequila?
When it comes to tequila, we know what we’re doing. For example, our Calirosa Rosa Blanco tequila is aged in only California red wine barrels for 30 days, which is where it gets its unique flavor notes of honey, strawberry, and raspberry.
Our agave is sourced from the Tequila Volcano in Mexico, and we surpass the industry standard with higher sugar content and maximum agave maturity. In addition, this agave is cooked in old-fashioned brick ovens rather than steel ovens.
The slower production process allows us to intensify the tequila’s complex flavors and aromas for an extraordinary tasting experience.
